Dental hygiene conference workshops

Author / Instructor Diane Millar’s hands-on workshops have been offered for dental meetings, conferences and dental schools throughout the US and in Canada. The workshops are designed for up to 24 attendees to learn state of the art scaling techniques and postural ergonomics in every quadrant. Individual instruction is offered to ensure protective instrumentation strategies and implement ideal working postures in every quadrant.

Dental Hygiene Workshop Description

  • The hygienist workshops are set up with portable simulation units and typodont models
  • LM-Dental ergonomic instruments with wider diameter handles are utilized Through video clips and hands-on participation
  • Attendees utilize a variety of universal instruments and Graceys while practicing
  • State-of-the-art advanced reinforced scaling techniques are taught in every quadrant
  • Attendees learn how to prevent repetitive motion skills by keeping a neutral hand, wrist and arm while scaling
  • Instrument grasp and ideal scaling strokes will be reviewed and practiced
  • Injury prevention is taught by implementing larger muscle groups in the arms for scaling in place of smaller muscle groups in the hands and wrists
  • Injury prevention and time management for scaling efficacy is emphasized
  • Three to four units of Continuing Education will be provided for all workshops
